Torneko 2: The Last Hope
With Torneko 2, Enix made another foray into the realm of roguelikes, this time on the PlayStation. The game even made its way to the US, but seeing as this was a time when publishers seemed to be trying extra hard to make the genre popular on consoles in the West, it probably shouldn't come as too much of a surprise.
The game sold very well in Japan. In fact it did so well that a Gameboy Advance version of the game was eventually made. Unfortunately, it didn't fair so well in the US. Dragon Warrior diehards gave it a go, but the press weren't particularly taken with it, giving the game mediocre scores. |
