Torneko 3

After doing quite well on the Super Famicom, and the PlayStation, Enix decided to take Torneko on one more roguelike adventure, but this time on the PS2. The game followed Torneko as he took his family on vacation to celebrate his son's twelfth birthday. Along the way, they came across a nice little tropical island that was beset by troubles. Torneko being the nice guy that he is decided to help, and maybe find a bit of treasure while he was at it. There were some noticeable changes to the game for its third installment, such as the ability to form a party, field maps, and some spruced up graphics.

Not only did the game come to the PlayStation 2, but there was also a GBA version that had a few extra dungeons thrown in. The games did quite well in Japan, selling over half a million copies on the PS2, and over 100k on the GBA, but were never released in the West.

This would mark the last time the last of the Torneko games, as Yangus from Dragon Quest VIII has take over as the hero of the Mystery Dungeon games.
